GAO: USAF report on tactical aircraft fleet used dated information

The U.S. Government Accountability Office has determined that three reports on the future of the U.S. Air Force’s tactical aircraft fleet had used dated information.

The analysts were affected by instability in the F-35 program and the absence of F-16 fleet durability and viability data.

Congress had asked for those reports to determine the actual fighter shortfall when legacy fighters are being retired.
