F-22 getting F-35 stealth coatings

Improved radar absorbent coatings developed for the F-35 have made its way to the F-22 with the newest jet being produced at Lockheed Martin’s Marietta plant getting the new materials.

Jeff Babione, vice president and general manager of the F-22 program, said the coatings does not improve the F-22’s stealth characteristics but do improve on the durability of those coatings.
