Dambusters raid recreated in Canada

A team from Cambridge University has recreated the bouncing bomb developed by scientist Barnes Wallis in 1943.

The designs and calculations to create the bomb was lost in a flood in the 1960s. The team lead by Hugh Hunt had to rely on a 1976 paper.

Starting by firing cricket balls from a bowling machine at a swimming pool, the team gradually scale up to a life-size replica and drop it over a lake in Canada using a DC4.
