For the first time, Russian and NATO fighters will take part in a joint exercise designed to prevent September 11-style airliner hijacks.
The live phase of the exercise will take place over Poland and the Black Sea. Polish fighters will hand over the ‘hijacked’ aircraft to Russian fighters on June 7 and a similar exercise will take place the next day with Turkish and Russian fighters.
