Saab accuse BAE Systems of bribery in South African Gripen deal

Saab has admitted that bribes were paid in the South African Gripen contract but claims that it was BAE Systems that carried it out.

Saab’s internal investigations revealed that approximately 24 million rand ($3.5 million) was paid by BAE Systems to its South African subsidiary Sanip. The money was later transferred to Fana Hlongwane without Saab’s knowledge.
