DARPA has given General Atomics a contract for the agency’s High Energy Liquid Laser Defense System (HELLADS) program.
General Atomics will complete work on the 150-kilowatt Demonstrator Laser Weapon System (DLWS) and current plans are to integrate the laser on a B-1 bomber following the completion of ground testing at White Sands.
