Taiwan’s military has refuted an Apple Daily report that eight Chinese fighters were sent to intercept an American U-2 spy plane in late June.
The report said China dispatched six Su-27s and two Su-30s and had flew in airspace 150 kilometers off Taiwan’s eastern coast.
A Ministry of National Defense spokesman said only two Su-27s crossed the Taiwan Strait median line for two minutes and no Su-30s were involved.
