LM CEO: New F-16s for Taiwan merely maintain island’s capabilities

Lockheed Martin CEO, Robert Stevens, told the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit that selling 66 F-16C/Ds to Taiwan would merely maintain the island’s air power capabilities, not boost them.

“These are replacement airplanes that are requested to assure that there’s no degrading of the country’s ability to defend itself.”

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu, warned the United States not to sell the F-16s to Taiwan.
