U.S. Army’s Advanced Hypersonic Weapon successfully tested

The U.S. Army Advanced Hypersonic Weapon (AHW) prototype made a successful maiden flight Nov. 17.

The glide vehicle was launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kauai, Hawaii and flew to the Reagan Test Site, U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll at hypersonic speed.

The Pentagon says results from the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 (HTV-2) test flights were used in planning the AHW flight test.
