United States Air Forces in Europe have concluded that the F-15E that crashed in Libya was due to the aircraft’s sudden departure from controlled flight.
The aircraft had exceeded the critical angle of attack during an Air Force-approved combat maneuver. The maneuver was also carried out at an untested altitude and lateral asymmetry.
