Political appointees from the Obama administration are stopping the U.S. State Department from slapping sanctions on Thales for selling satellites to China illegally.
Paris has also refused to allow Thales to cooperate in the 3 1/2-year probe into the sale of Spacebus 4000 C2 satellite. The satellite contains high-tech parts which requires an export license before they are exported to third countries.
