U.S. Army gets green light to develop Common Infrared Countermeasure for helicopters

The U.S. Army has been given permission by the Pentagon to begin the technology development phase for the Common Infrared Countermeasure (CIRCM) program.

The service is expected to spend $5.7 billion for the program to provide helicopters with defenses against infrared missiles.
