Canada to pay $337.3 million for 20-year access to Global Wideband Satellite program

Canada will spend $337.3 million to buy 20-year access to the Global Wideband Satellite program. This will allow Canadian soldiers to communicate without relying on commercial satellites.

The Canadian investment will help fund the construction of one of 10 satellites planned for the network.
