USN demonstrates progress with UCAS-D aerial refueling

The U.S. Navy has completed a series of Autonomous Aerial Refueling tests for the Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstration (UCAS-D) program.

X-47B hardware and software were installed on a Calspan Learjet surrogate aircraft and a series of flights were conducted with an Omega K-707 Tanker.

The team plans to conduct two more surrogate test periods before demonstrating refueling techniques on the X-47B in 2014.
