Thousands of Yemeni air force personnel took to the streets on Saturday to demand the removal of the commander, who is the president’s half-brother.
The protests took place in the capital Sanaa and other parts of the country.
Abdul Aziz al-Muhayya, deputy commander of air force operations, said Mohammed Saleh had ordered them to bomb civilian areas.
