The U.S. Air Force has asked Lockheed Martin to bring two Defense Meteorological Support Program (DMSP) military weather satellites out of storage and prepare them for launch into space.
The service is forced to reply on the old satellites after the next generation Defense Weather Satellite System (DWSS) was canceled.
