Canadian taxpayers paid $47,000 for F-35 press conference

Canadian taxpayers forked out more than $47,000 for a news conference to announce Canada’s decision to buy the F-35 in 2010.

A spokesman for the defense minister said almost half of the $47,313 was paid to an audio-visual company that helped stage the event.
