China has denied allegations in a news report by Japan’s Asahi Shimbun newspaper that it shipped TELs to North Korea using a Cambodian-registered cargo ship.
Asahi Shimbun said the vehicles left Shanghai on Aug. 1 and arrived at Nampo, North Korea, three days later. The cargo ship then departed for Japan and Japanese coast guard discovered documents detailing the export of the vehicles during an on-board inspection.
