Swiss parliament committee criticizes purchase of Gripens but voted to go ahead

A Swiss parliament committee has criticized the purchase of 22 Saab Gripen fighter jets but voted not to block the deal.

The parliamentary security commission found that the “choice of jet made by the Federal Council carries the most risks: technically, commercially, financially and in respect of the delivery date.”

The committee voted 9-6 nonetheless to carry out the purchase.
