Pilot in RBAF Bell 212 crash carried out “unauthorized low-level flying”

The investigation into the fatal crash of a RBAF Bell 212 helicopter found that the pilot had carried out an “unauthorized low-level flying.”

The pilot was flying at a speed of around 60-80 knots and lost altitude when he banked the aircraft 45 degrees to trail the river’s route. An attempt to recover the aircraft failed and it crashed into two large trees.
