Swedish politicians are warning that if the present government goes ahead with plans to buy only 40 new Gripen fighters, Sweden could end up with an air force that is smaller than Norway.

AVIC told Aviation Week that the Shenyang stealth fighter has a combat radius of 1,250 km on internal fuel. Maximum speed is Mach 1.8.
