France’s Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said four Rafales, flying from their base in France, had attacked and destroyed Islamist rebel strongholds deep in northern Mali on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a RAF C-17 has arrived in France to help ferry French armoured vehicles and other equipment destined for Mali, another C-17 is expected to join the effort as well.
