The U.S. Army has re-certified the operational life of the worldwide inventory of Patriot missiles from 30 to 45 years.

Raytheon was awarded a $155.6 million contract to manufacture Block 2 Rolling Airframe Missiles for delivery to the German navy. It represents the largest single RAM award by Germany. The contract was awarded in Raytheon’s first quarter of 2013.

In an interview with Haaretz, Maj. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg, head of Israel’s Home Front Command, said the civilian population is likely to be exposed to an incoming barrage of rockets during war as the Iron Dome batteries are deployed to protect key strategic and military sites.
