Saab has decided that work on major components for the Gripen E will be allocated to the Swiss aircraft industry.
Swiss companies will develop, produce and assemble five major components;
- Gripen E rear fuselage
- Gripen E pylons (weapon stations),
- Gripen E tail cone,
- Gripen E air brakes, and the
- Gripen E external fuel “drop” tanks
