South Korea says indigenous missile defense system deploying in July

South Korea will deploy an indigenous missile defense system called the Korea Air and Missile Defense System (KAMD) in July.

KAMD consists of Patriot missiles and long-range early warning radars. The final component of the system, the Air and Missile Defense Cell (AMD-Cell), will be operational in July. AMD-Cell collects data from U.S. early missile warning satellites and South Korea’s radar system and sends it to Patriot missile units.
