A former Russian Air Force general has pleaded guilty in court to causing a Su-27UB to crash on Jun. 28, 2012.
Maj. Gen. Kanamat Botashev took over the controls during flight and attempted a tail slide. His errors lead to the aircraft to enter an out of control spin. Both he and the co-pilot ejected.
