The Russian Defense Ministry has grounded its Mi-8 helicopters after one of them crashed on Tuesday.
The pilot and student was able to jump out of the stricken aircraft and parachute to safety. The aircraft engineer died in the crash.
The helicopter belongs to the Syzran branch of the Gagarin Air Force Academy.
