Flights at Portland International Airport were disrupted on Thursday afternoon after a F-15 from the Oregon Air National Guard blew its tires while landing and got stranded on the runway.
The pilot switched to a back-up braking system after the primary failed and two tires blew out in the process. A small fire started and the jet actually fused to the runway.
Commercial flights restarted around 5 pm after the jet was towed off the runway.
