The Philippines has requested through the U.S. Embassy for help to search for two missing OV-10 pilots.
USNS Safeguard and USNS Salvor, both salvage ships, are currently taking part in the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercise in Philippines.
Manila hopes to have these ships diverted from their training exercise off Panatag Shoal and help search for the missing plane in Palawan.
