Medal of Honor winner returns to North Korea in search of 1st black Navy pilot’s remains

Retired Navy Capt. Thomas Hudner, Medal of Honor winner, is returning to North Korea to find the remains of his wingman, the first black U.S. Navy aviator Ensign Jesse Brown.

Brown had crashed his F-4U Corsair in mountainous terrain during the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Hudner crashed landed his own plane to try and save Brown, but was unable to do so. Hudner was later awarded the Medal of Honor for trying to save Brown.
