Governor of Northern Mariana Islands, Eloy S. Inos, is asking the Pentagon to reconsider its decision to select Saipan as a preferred alternative for a divert airfield. Inos suggests Tinian as the better alternative.
The U.S. Air Force had planned to acquire 33 acres of land on Saipan for development. Inos said this will affect commercial development on Saipan.
