The Pentagon has launched a criminal probe into the Army’s Non-Standard Rotary Wing Aircraft office, which awarded lucrative contracts to Russian and U.S. firms for maintenance and overhaul of Mi-17 helicopters.
Investigator from the Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction are also looking into a program to buy Mi-17 helicopters for Afghanistan.
