Romanian Air Force C-27J to use new firefighting system

Alenia Aermacchi has come up with a new firefighting system that will go into service with Romanian Air Force’s C-27Js.

To fight fires, the C-27J will drop a large cardboard container filled with 1000 liters water or extinguishing liquid.

The innovative firefighting system called Caylym Guardian, allows a C-27J or C-130 to fight fires without any peculiar equipment or modification and can be launched at higher altitudes.
