Sikorsky and Aurora Flight Sciences have been selected under phase 1 of DARPA’s VTOL X-Plane program.
Both companies can now conduct trade studies and develop preliminary designs for a high-speed vertical takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft that flies faster than 300 knots.
