Dassault was given the Rafale F3 R development contract by French Defense Minister Jean-Yves le Drian on Jan. 10.
Rafales in this standard will be able to employ the Meteor long-range air-to-air missile and laser homing version of the Sagem AASM.
A new Thales PDL-NG new-generation laser designator pod will be included as well.
