Pentagon says PLAAF would be strained by conflict in South China Sea

At a hearing of the U.S.- China Economic and Security Review Commission in Washington, Lee Fuell, a director at the U.s. Air Force’s National Air and Space Intelligence Center, said the PLAAF will be strained “to project airpower in a sustained fashion” during a conflict in South China Sea.

It will be strained to maintain presence there due to a lack of aerial refueling aircraft and C4ISR support.
