Testifying before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, the deputy assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and the Pacific, Kin Moy, told lawmakers that the cancellation of the U.S. Air Force’s Combat Avionics Programmed Extension Suite (CAPES) program will not affect Taiwan’s upgrading of its F-16A/B fleet.
Moy said funding for the upgrade can be covered in Taiwan’s current letter of offer and acceptance.
