Lockheed Martin offers remanufactured S-3s for COD

Lockheed Martin believes that 87 S-3s now in storage at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona will be useful for the U.S. Navy’s carrier onboard delivery (COD) mission with a new fuselage.

By using a larger fuselage, the plane will be able to carry the F135 engine in a single piece. It will also retain the ability to refuel aircraft in mid-air.
