Raytheon has been allowed to resume production of its Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system following a successful intercept last month.
Adm. James Winnefeld, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in an interview that fixes to as many as 20 older-model EKVs will be carried out as well.
