Obama picks woman non-pilot to lead Pacific Air Forces

The Obama administration has decided that Lt. Gen. Lori J. Robinson will take over as commander of Pacific Air Forces from Gen. Herbert J. “Hawk” Carlisle.

Robinson, an air battle manager, is the first woman, non-pilot to take charge of the air component of the U.S. Pacific Command.

Gen. Herbert J. “Hawk” Carlisle is nominated to head the Air Combat Command.
