P&W suspends delivery of F135 engines over “suspect” titanium

Pratt & Whitney admitted that the company had suspended delivery of F135 engines to Lockheed Martin since May over concern that a supplier may have provided “suspect” titanium.

The suspension affected 10 engines for the F-35. None of the 147 engines mounted in the F-35 fleet contain titanium from the suspect engine parts.
