Cabin fire cause of MH-53E crash

A USN MH-53E crash off the coast of Virginia Beach on Jan. 8 was caused by a fire inside the aircraft.

An electrical short circuit created a spark that ignited a worn fuel cable. The helicopter hit the water within 20 seconds of the start of the fire.
