Sikorsky sued for Night Stalkers Black Hawk crash

Sikorsky and its suppliers have been sued for causing a Night Stalkers Black Hawk to crash on Jan. 16.

The deceased co-pilot’s mother and two surviving crew members are seeking unspecified damages from the plaintiffs for failing to install a cotter safety pin in the tail rotor. The mistake lead to a nut being loosen during the flight and subsequent lost of tail rotor control. Investigators blamed the crash on the missing safety pin.
