Saab sees Finland as a potential new customer for its Gripen fighter as the latter needs to replace the Hornet in the next 10 years.
Both sides are discussing the possibility of establishing a joint fighter patrol unit and the potential savings gained from having a common aircraft were discussed between Finnish Defense Minister Carl Haglund and his Swedish counterpart, Peter Hultqvist, in Helsinki on Oct. 10.
