U.S. Army refurbishing FIM-92E Stinger

The U.S. Army is undertaking the Stinger Service Life Extension Program, which will give each FIM-92E missile a service life of another 10 years.

Carried out at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in Oklahoma, each missile will have its flight motor, proximity fuze warhead section, gas generator cartridge, o-rings and desiccant cartridge replaced.

The upgraded Stinger will be redesignated as the FIM-92J.
