Japan plans to have missile warning satellite

Japan plans to attach an infrared sensor to one of its optical satellite for early warning of missile launches.

Ashahi Shimbun says the satellite is scheduled to be launched in space by JAXA in 2019. The sensor operates on two wavelengths in order to differentiate between missile engines and forest fires.
