Acting U.S. Assistant Defense Secretary Stephanie Barna has authorized the Pentagon to give thousands of dollars in back pay to air crew who fly missions over Syria.
Before that, the airspace over Syria was not listed as a dangerous location. From now on, those flying over Syria can now receive $7.50 per day, up to a maximum of $225 a month.
