96th Test Group brings ‘R2D2’ to life

The 96th Test Group at Holloma Air Force Base is testing a device that resembles the R2D2 on a T-38.

The Rear Cockpit Pallet’s role is to perform high-dynamic testing of new GPS technology inside the jet.

Similar to the robot, the RCP is mounted on the rear seat, engineers had to make sure the device won’t interfere with the firing of the ejection seat.
