DARPA will embark on a research program to identify the technologies required for a 6th generation fighter aircraft.
The information was revealed by the Pentagon chief weapons buyer, Frank Kendall, during a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee.
The focus will be on new airframe and engine technology.
