C-17 damaged by fire is back flying

A C-17 that was damaged by fire at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on Jan. 7 is now back flying.

According to the U.S. Air Force, the aircraft suffered a rare tail pipe fire that caused $180,000 in damages. The aircraft was out of service for approximately two weeks for repairs.
